Let's Talk About Treasure Tokens & Accompanying Article

Hello everyone,

Here's a link to my latest video, an analysis of the discourse around treasure tokens.  They've been a part of the game since 2017, but since 2021 they've really begun to appear in huge numbers.  This video tracks the thoughts of the community on them, and discusses whether treasure cards are fine or potentially problematic.

I also have an article to accompany it, which breaks the data down in even greater detail and features some quotes from notable content creators like Nizzahon Magic and DiceTry who I spoke to when putting this piece together.

Thanks and have great day, 😀

The History of Magic the Gathering told via a Card From Every Set 16: Throne of Eldraine-Zendikar Rising

In this Oko-tastic video, we explore all of the sets from Throne of Eldraine to Zendikar Rising. That means, at the time that this video is uploaded, we have actually caught up with the current standard format.  I'm honestly blown away that I've made it this far, thank you so much to all of you for all of the support you've given me throughout my time on YouTube

Hope you like it. :)

Cubing Misconceptions (Featuring Andy and Anthony from Lucky Paper Radio)

Way back in January, I interviewed Andy and Anthony, the hosts of the Lucky Paper Radio podcast.  We had a chat about the cube format and some common misconceptions which stop people from playing it. After a lot of editing, I've put together this video which contains the highlights from our hour and a half long interview.  Next week I will upload the audio of the interview in its entirety.

Enjoy :)

The History of Magic the Gathering via a Card From Every Set 15: Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark & Core Sets 2019 and 2020

Here's the latest instalment in my series on the History of Magic: The Gathering. We're looking at Core Sets 2019 and 2020 as well as Guilds of Ravnica block.  War of the Spark is probably one of the most significant sets in the history of the game.  It's strange to think that it came out almost 3 years ago now.

Enjoy :)

The History of Magic the Gathering told via a Card From Every Set 14: Kaladesh to Dominaria

Hey guys, here's my newest The History of Magic: The Gathering video.  The last of these came out in August, so it's been a while.  I have been experimenting with some new kinds of content, but it's good to return to something familiar.

At exactly 29 minutes in length, this is the longest video in this series so far. We cover 7 whole sets from Kaladesh to DominariaDominaria holds a pretty special place in my heart, and going to the Dominaria pre-release is probably one of my favourite MTG Memories.

As always I hope you enjoy :)

'Spooky' Ravnica Mixer Halloween Draft

Hello everyone, happy Halloween.  You guys may not know this but Halloween happens to be the anniversary of when I created this blog 2 years ago.  I know I have moved largely onto video essays, but I wanted to do something to commemorate the occasion.

I have been very busy this month, so unfortunately I didn't have the time to write a spooky Unusual Tribes article, instead I hope you'll enjoy this Ravnica Mixer draft on MTG Arena.  Let me know what you think, and if you'd like to see any more gameplay videos from me.

Thanks and have a suitably horrifying Halloween.

The History of Magic the Gathering told via a Card From Every Set 13: Magic Origins to Eldritch Moon

Hello everyone.  Here is the next part in my The History of Magic The Gathering series.  Magic Origins was a fun set, even considering that it's a core set.  I also happen to think that Shadows Over Innistrad block was great.  I was not, however, much of a fan of Battle For Zendikar block.  See if you can tell, once you've watched this.

Like I said before, I'm experimenting with some new types of videos.  So expect the next thing I upload to be a bit different.

Thanks as always,
-Macready
